Natural Rearing
The key to natural rearing is just that: letting the puppies be raised as closely as possible to the way they would be in nature. This consists of a variety of practices, the most important of which is making sure they are nursed by a mother who is on a healthy, correct diet, and in turn feeding them correctly as they are weaned. We feed our dogs a mixture of raw food and premium, grain-free kibble, in order to approximate a natural diet as closely as possible. We also make sure our puppies are naturally weaned, if possible, thereby receiving immunity through their mother’s milk instead of vaccinations, and introduce them to a variety of stimuli so that they can transform into a healthy young dogs as naturally as possible.

Minimal Vaccinations
Unfortunately, many people have developed a frame of mind that tells them the quick fix is ideal and cutting corners is acceptable. Here at Emmett Doodles, however, we do not cut corners when it comes to your future dog–the quick fix is unacceptable for your four-legged companion that will love you unconditionally. Because of this, we have chosen to use very minimal vaccines and focus on a complementary medicine of natural antibodies from nursing, homeopathy and herbs rather than the quick-fix plethora of vaccines that many breeders use.

Early Neural Stimulation
After puppies are born their brains begin to develop very rapidly. During this time period it is critical to introduce them to a variety of stimuli so that they can develop into the best version of themselves while still in a safe environment with their mother and siblings.This includes introducing them to tactical stimulation, thermal stimulation, and various spinal positions that may not otherwise occur in their daily lives. We make sure to handle our puppies at least once a day in order to help them recognize these stimuli and develop into amazing young dogs.
